Billy Elliot The Musical Announces Official Opening Date

As previously announced, Billy Elliot The Musical will play its first Broadway preview Sept. 17 at the Imperial Theatre with an official opening set for October 16.

Based on the award winning 2000 film of the same name Billy Elliot The Musical has won the hearts of audiences around the world. Following an acclaimed sold out run in London, Billy Elliot The Musical makes it's Broadway debut this fall. Set against the backdrop of the 1984 miners' strike, Billy Elliot tells the story of one boy's dream to become a ballet dancer and his triumph over adversity. Winner of the 2006 Olivier Award for Best Musical, and featuring music by Tony and Grammy Award winning singer song-writer Elton John, Billy Elliot is poised to be one of the big hits of the 2008-2009 Broadway season.
