I'll be the first to admit that Passing Strange is not your typical musical. But that's what makes it so interesting. Now I don't know about anybody else but if I see one more cartoon or movie turned musical on stage then I am going to scream. Yes those type of shows do have their place on Broadway. And if not for them Broadway would probably not survive. But what happened to some originality people? Shows like Passing Strange and In The Heights are a rarity. Therefore they should be allowed the chance to thrive.If not the future doesn't look to bright I'm afraid. And that my friends would be the biggest shame of them all.
