In The Heights Provides Heat For The Cold Months Ahead

Anyone who works with me or reads my blogs every week know how I feel about In The Heights. The show which won the 2008 Tony Award for Best Musical is one of the most entertaining and touching shows to hit Broadway in many years. Ironically I was one of the last one's in my office to see the show as they had seen it during it's premier Off-Broadway in the Summer of 2007. Not that I wasn't interested. I just never got around to seeing it. Cut to February 2008 and the show moves to Broadway and becomes a smash hit. I finally got around to seeing the show about a month into it's run and fall in love with not only the message but the entire show as a whole.

First of all it has an eclectic score that features everything from hip-hop to salsa to your standard musical theatre fare. The cast is electric and the story touches your heart and makes you realize that nothing is impossible if you really believe in yourself. The show which is now in it's second year on Broadway still continues to pack them in eight times a week at Broadway's Richard Rodgers Theatre.
