Mary Poppins- Three Years And Counting

That's right theatre fans. On November 16 Mary Poppins will celebrate it's third anniversary on the Great White Way. The show which is based on the beloved 1964 movie and the book of the same name first premiered in London in December 2004. Growing up as I child Mary Poppins was one of my favorite films. Although I was bit skeptical when they announced a live stage production. Not that I didn't think it would succeed. I was just afraid that nobody could ever live up to the amazing and Oscar winning performance of Julie Andrews.

It turns out I was worried for nothing. The show was better than I could have ever imagined.Now those of you who have read my blogs know my disdain for Disney on Broadway. This is different. First of all this is not one of their animated movie musicals that was transformed into a big splashy and over produced Broadway musical. Second the movie is a classic. I don't know anyone who doesn't recall the movie with great love and affection. It is that good. Call now to get your tickets to see Mary Poppins on Broadway. It is truly a magical night in the theatre.
