Rupert Everett is a “Blithe Spirit”
I had such a great time at "Blithe Spirit". Angela Landsbury is a hoot and just wonderful in this role. She certainly deserved the Tony Award!A-list British actor and all around debonair dude Rupert Everett is making his Broadway debut in Noel Coward’s blissfully urbane comedy “Blithe Spirit”. Rupert, 49, stars opposite Christine Ebersole, she who was so sublime in “Grey Gardens.” “Blithe Spirit,” which some may remember from the 1945 David Lean picture starring Rex Harrison, spins around a giddy seance with an eccentric medium (is there any other kind?) that invokes the spirit of a dead wife. Let’s just say, this time it’s personal!
I loved Rupert in My Best Friends Wedding with Julia Roberts. One of my favorite movies that I can watch over and over again. They had such great
chemistry together. He's a fine actor who does a great job in this show.I highly recommend it and urge you to see this show soon before it closes on July 19th. It's a limited run. Applause has tickets at a great price right now, below the normal face value of the ticket. 800-451-9930

Blithe Spirit To Close On July 19
That's right theatre fans. Noel Coward's drawing room comedy Blithe Spirit will play it's final performance on Sunday July 19. The show which opened to favorable reviews features a bevy of Broadway favorites including Angela Lansbury who won her fifth Tony Award for Best Featured Actress this past Sunday for her hilarious portrayal as Madame Arcati. According to press notes the play tells the story of "Author Charles Condomine, who hires an eccentric medium to perform a seance at his house party in order to find material for an expose he's writing. Unbeknownest to him, she winds up summoning the spirit of his first wife, Elvira, who is out to seek revenge on her former husband." I personally did not see the show but the chance to see a Broadway legend like Ms. Lansbury may be too hard to pass up. Maybe I'll give it a try. Plus if you call Applause now we can get you tickets to see Blithe Spirit at below face value. Not a bad deal right?Want tickets to any show On or Off Broadway? Call Applause Theatre Service now.

Angela Lansbury wins record-tying fifth Tony Award for the Very Funny Play "Blithe Spirit"!
Angela Lansbury already holds one Tony Awards record — hosting the ceremony more often than anyone else (five times) — and now she has tied a second with her win at the Tony's. In rare form as the medium in "Blithe Spirit," Angela Lansbury picked up her fifth Tony Award, winning the featured (supporting) actress in a play race. Angela Lansbury's previous four victories were all for lead actress in a musical: "Mame" (1966), "Dear World" (1969), "Gypsy" (1975) and "Sweeney Todd" (1979).But was Lansbury's role as the wacky Madame Arcati really a "featured" one? It was placed in that category after "Blithe Spirit" producers requested that classification from the Tony nominating committee, knowing that Lansbury had better odds of prevailing there.
No matter now though, she is wonderful in this role and deserves the award as are everyone else in the show.
You must hurry to see this hysterical play since it closes July 19th.
If you call Applause now at 800-451-9930 we can get you great seats at a great price(Below the Normal Face Value in fact!). You can't beat that!
