Broadway Opening Nights 2008 - Applause Theatre Service Has Amazing Tickets and Great Prices

The Applause staff had a moment or two in between an active phone room today at the office http://www.applause-tickets.com/ , and the subject turned to new shows that were coming to Broadway soon. We thought our friends and customers would like to know what was happening on Broadway in the months ahead. Now is about the time when new shows open on Broadway so they can try to compete for the much coveted Tony Awards that are given out to "outstanding performances" in the theatre in early June 2008.

So here goes.

The 39 Steps www.applause-tickets.com/39-steps.asp just opened on Broadway, a very funny Alfred Hitchcock style whodunit thriller, along with another new political comedy starring Nathan Lane in a show called November www.applause-tickets.com/november.asp , as well as Disney's fantastic new musical, The Little Mermaid www.applause-tickets.com/little-mermaid.asp , which opened last weekend. I saw The Little Mermaid twice and loved it both times.

In addition, you can see a very moving play called Come Back, Little Sheba (read my blog if you get a chance at www.applause-tickets.com/blog and simply scroll down to our January 10,2008 entry if you like. I am usually more excited about seeing musicals but love Kevin Anderson, one of my favorite actors as well as the entire cast of this great play. Come Back, Little Sheba opens on January 24,2008

The season will see these other great shows opening in time to possibly receive the Tony Awards. They are:

Opening nights on Broadway in New York have always been exciting nights to remember throughout my 31 years in the Broadway ticket business. It used to be that we would wake up the morning after a show opened and get "the scoop" on what the New York critic's thought of the shows. Nowadays, with all the great blogs on the Internet and word of mouth, one can almost predict what the critic's are going to write before it is in print. It's kind of nice knowing that critic's opinions matter less these days, to me anyway. Our customers usually take our suggestions anyway so who needs a critic?

Stay tuned friends as there are often last minute additions to my list. There are always new shows that will want to open prior to the Tony Awards deadline, trust me.

Oh, I almost forgot. If you, your friends, family or people where you work want to see any of the shows I mentioned or shows that we sell www.applause-tickets.com/broadway/asp (we sell every one of them of course), feel free to give us a call 7 days a week right here in New York City at 212-307-7050 or 1-800-451-9930, 7 days a week. Applause provides a very personal level of service. The friendly staff offers the very best choices in seating at all the shows, from Premium (first 10 rows center usually), to Best Available, usually very well positioned orchestra or front mezzanine seating or for those that are on a tighter budget, we can provide the top level of the theatre seating at much lower prices. These seats are full view of course.

Applause's motto is that they are real people you can trust helping you get "the best seats for the best shows at the best prices". These words are so true, they are people you can trust. They know how difficult some shows are to obtain good seats for and which ones are available at a much lower price (their insider priced shows). You can have a peak at them at www.applause-tickets.com/insider-rices.asp .

We hope to hear from you soon.

Cat on a Hot Tin Roof

I cannot begin to tell you how much I am looking forward to seeing Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Not only is it one of Tennessee Williams’ greatest plays but for the first time in Broadway history this classic production is being performed by an all African-American cast. Now I know there are some out there who may disagree that a show that takes place in the south in the turbulent 1950’s should not be played by African-Americans. To those I say, “Get over it!” For years non-traditional casting has allowed actors and actresses alike the chance to play roles that they may never have gotten the chance to play otherwise. Just enjoy the show. I know I will.

Give us a call at 1-800-451-9930 or 212-307-7050, or visit us on the web at http://www.applause-tickets.com/.
