Tickets Now On Sale To See Kristin Chenoweth and Sean Hayes In Promises, Promises
Being a huge Burt Bacharach fan I am really looking forward to seeing Promises, Promises on Broadway. Of course having the talented and adorable Tony and Emmy winner Ms. Kristen Chenoweth certainly helps too. This marks the first time the show is being revived on the Great White Way since the original 1968 Broadway production which ran for 1,281 performances. Besides Ms. Chenoweth the show stars fellow Emmy winner Sean Hayes(Will and Grace)who is making his Broadway debut.Rounding out the cast are Tony nominee Brooks Ashmanskas(Present Laughter),Tony winner Katie Finneran(Noises Off),and Tony Goldwyn. For those of you unfamiliar with the show Promises, Promises is actually based on the 1960 Academy Award winning film The Apartment. Besides music by Burt Bacharach it has lyrics by his long time collaborator Hal David and a book by Neil Simon. Even if you are not familiar with the show I'm sure you have heard some of it's music.
Two of it's most well known songs are "I'll Never Fall In Love Again" and the title song "Promises, Promises" which became hit singles for singer Dionne Warwick. Previews are set to begin at the Broadway Theatre on March 27,2010 with opening night scheduled for April 25. With only two other revivals still running(A Little Night Music and La Cage Aux Folles)it stands a good chance at some Tony nominations this May. I for one hope it is a big fat hit. We shall see. Until next time theatre fans.

Tickets For First Broadway Revival Of Promises,Promises Now On Sale
Being a huge Burt Bacharach fan I for one cannot wait to see this show. Although having Tony and Emmy Award winner Kristin Chenoweth headlining the revival helps too. Starring along side Ms. Chenoweth is Emmy winner Sean Hayes. The show which first premiered on Broadway over forty-years ago is set to begin previews on March 28 with opening night set for April 25. Starring along side Ms. Chenoweth is Emmy winner Sean Hayes. It's interesting to note that when this season began four revivals were set open.A Little Night Music,Bye Bye Birdie,Finian's Rainbow, and Ragtime. My how things change. Of the shows I mentioned only A Little Night Music is still running although that is mainly due in part to it's two stars Catherine Zeta-Jones and Angela Lansbury.Well you know what they say. "One man's misfortune is another man's gain." With three shows gone that leaves Promises, Promises with a better chance to succeed. We shall see. Until next time theatre fans.

Promises, Promises Announces Final Cast
I can't tell you how much I am looking forward to seeing Promises,Promises on Broadway. The show is set to begin previews at the Broadway Theatre on March 27 with an official opening set for April 25. Yesterday the producers of the show announced the remainder of the cast. Joining previously announced stars Sean Hayes, Kristin Chenoweth, Brooks Ashmanskas, Katie Finneran and Tony Goldwyn, are Hairspray Tony winner Dick Latessa as Dr. Dreyfuss, Peter Benson as Mr. Kirkeby, Sean Martin Hingston as Mr. Eichelberger and Ken Land as Jesse Vanderhof. This new production which marks it's first time on Broadway since the original 1968 production is being directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Rob Ashford and is based on the Academy Award winning film "The Apartment". Now I myself have never seen the film or a live production of the show but I do love Burt Bacharach's music.
Promises, Promises is set to run Monday through Saturday at 8 PM, with matinees Saturday at 2 PM, with an added 2 PM Wednesday matinee on April 14. Beginning Monday April 19, the playing schedule is as follows: Tuesday at 7 PM, Wednesday through Saturday at 8 PM, with matinees Wednesday and Saturday at 2 PM and Sunday at 3 PM.
Get your tickets to see Promises, Promises on Broadway. I expect it to be a major contender come Tony time.
