All About Me To Open On Broadway Tomorrow Night
Now I'll be the first to admit that out of all the shows that are opening this season All About Me is the one that I care the least about. Nothing against Dame Edna or Michael Feinstein it just doesn't sound like my type of show. Regardless of what I feel about it there is obviously an audience out there for these two.The show which began previews at the Henry Miller's Theatre on February 22 will officially open tomorrow night. What the critic's will say about it is anyone's guess. This is Dame Edna's third go around on Broadway having won a special Tony Award 2000 and being nominated during her last engagement in 2005. Mr. Feinstein was last seen on Broadway at the Lyceum Theatre on 1990.
Now while both have a following I'm not sure if there enough people out there willing to shell out a $120 each to see them in a show together. The good news is that if you are one of their many fans who are dying to get tickets there is a way to see it for less.
In fact if you call Applause now we can get you tickets to see this new musical comedy for below face value. Be advised this special offer is only good thru April 18,2010.Get your tickets to see All About Me on Broadway. Sure I may not want to see it but somebody out there does.

Christmas Is Here
Yes I know Christmas is still almost four weeks away. But let's face it folks. It will be here before you know it. This coming week marks one of the busiest weeks in New York City. Four days ago was the Macy's Day Parade and in three days it will be time for the lighting of the Christmas Tree in Rockefeller Center. Where does the time go? Now most people that are coming into town in the next couple of weeks are here to shop or see a show on Broadway or the Radio City Christmas Spectacular.Yes I know the economy is not what it used to be. That doesn't mean there aren't some great deals out there. Currently there are over twenty-five shows running on Broadway and Off-Broadway that offer special "insider deal" prices. Spend that extra money on gifts or souvenirs for your family and then sit back and enjoy the show. Yes theatre can be expensive but it doesn't have to be. Just call the theatre experts at Applause and let us do the rest. It's as simple as that. Have a great holiday.

Broadway's new musical Fela! has legs
If you're like me and love intensely unique music and amazing dance routines, then maybe you should consider obtaining tickets for Fela!, a brand new Broadway show. Fela! uses the uniqueness of Afrobeat, which is a combination of Jazz, Funk and African rhythm and harmonies. This great music is used to tell the inspirational story of the controversial African artist and musician and political activist named Fela Kuti.Fela Kuti's amazing songs along with Tony Award winner Bill T. Jones original staging makes for a very special theater experience indeed. Mr. Jones also is the writer of Fela! musicals book.
One of the many markets we serve when providing tickets to theater-goers are sales to hotel concierge. In making my rounds visiting various hotel concierge in New York City over the past few weeks, I must say that most of these New York City experts really love the Fela! musical. My friend Lorena is a head concierge at the newly refurbished Surrey Hotel on East 73rd Street and she said "Rich, I really loved everything about Fela! and often suggest my hotel guests go to see it".
Of course Fela! will be a much different theater experience than you've ever had. But if you are looking to see something that only comes along once every 10 to 20 years or so, maybe Fela! is the show you've been waiting for.
Right now, the local Broadway ticket experts at Applause Ticket Agency in New York City (NY State license #71AP1001029) have an arrangement with Fela! which will give our customers access to top priced seating for this amazing event along with greatly reduced prices. It's very simple really when you think about it. Fela! wants an introduction to the average Broadway theater-goer so they can sell more tickets to the show. With this in mind, Fela! is giving our company Applause a significant discount. We in turn, pass on the reduced price we can buy the tickets for, add on a small service charge and offer the public seats at terrific prices.
From now through November 21, 2009, we can provide tickets at below face value for Fela! And provide excellent orchestra and front mezzanine seats as well. If you think you might want to see something unique on Broadway, consider a call to Applause today. Ask for the Fela! BFV ticket special. For additional BFV ticket deals please click here.
If you want to talk about any of the other long-running Broadway Shows, we welcome your call toll free at 800-451-9930 or locally at 212-307-7050. There is never any pressure to make a purchase. We just consider ourselves people that love and know the theater very well.. if we can help, just let us know.
I hope this information is helpful to you and hope you'll consider passing our company name along to others in your life that love the Broadway Theater.
Take care theater lovers.
Sincerely,Rich Gladstone

Superior Donuts To Open Tonight
Finally the wait is over. Superior Donuts is set to open tonight at Broadway's Music Box Theatre. This new play which received critical acclaim during it's run at Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre began previews on September 16. Although I haven't seen it yet people in my office loved it and hopefully the critics will too. I was a big fan of the playwrights last show August:Osage County, which won the Pulitzer Prize and that years Tony Award for Best Play. Will lighting strike twice? We will soon find out. Be sure to check back tomorrow for the reviews. Until next time theatre fans.JWB

The Stars are "Waiting For Godot"
What a great night of theatre
and acting master class! "Waiting for Godot" stars Nathan Lane, Bill Irwin, John Goodman and John Glover who were featured on the “Charlie Rose Show.” Click here to watch all four stars discuss this classic play and its return to Broadway.“This ‘Waiting for Godot’ is a smart, engaging production and deeply satisfying. Mr. Page and his cast generate brisk comic liveliness throughout the show with tasty variety of style and pacing enforced by the grace of fine actors. ”
– Ben Brantley, New York Times
“Roundabout Theatre Company’s revival is beautifully simple — and very, very funny.”
– Terry Teachout, Wall Street Journal
Waiting for Godot remains Samuel Beckett’s most magical and beautiful allegory. The story revolves around two seemingly homeless men waiting for someone – or something – named Godot. Vladimir (Bill Irwin) and Estragon (Nathan Lane) wait near a tree on a barren stretch of road, inhabiting a drama spun from their own consciousness. The result is a comical wordplay of poetry, dreamscapes and nonsense, which has been interpreted as a somber summation of mankind’s inexhaustible search for meaning.
We here at Applause have a Below Face Value deal for some great savings. Hurry! This is a limited run! Call a sales expert at 800-451-9930 to book your tickets now.

Tommy Batchelor stars in Broadway’s ‘Billy Elliot’
One of the biggest hits this
Broadway season , "Billy Elliot", has added a fourth Billy recently, Tommy Batchelor. I hear he's just terrific!Tommy Batchelor’s dance teacher predicted he would be on Broadway. “But she thought I would be at least 20,” said Tommy.
Now 13, he is one of four boys playing the lead role in Billy Elliot, the hit musical on Broadway.
Tommy, whose home is in Palm Beach Gardens, was spotted by a talent scout in 2007 at a ballet competition in Orlando and joined the show in May 2008. He officially became the fourth Billy in March.
With music by Elton John, Billy Elliot is based on a 2000 British movie about a boy from a working-class family in northern England who wants to
be a ballet dancer. A hit in London and Sydney, Australia, the musical opened in November to raves in New York. It’s a classic heart warmer: Young boy beats the odds to fulfill his dreams.
Like the character he plays, Tommy Batchelor knows what it means to be devoted to dance. When he was 3 years old, he saw a television biography about the legendary tap dancer Bill Bojangles. “I said, ‘I want to do that.’ ” said Tommy.
Stamina is important for the role. “The Billy's carry the show,” said casting director Nora Brennan. “They are onstage almost three hours, doing ballet, tap, gymnastics, singing and acting. It’s a very demanding role.” Apparently this kid has the chops to carry this show.
I would highly recommend getting your tickets to see this show very soon because I feel it has a very good chance of winning a whole bunch of Tony Awards come June 7th. So call an Applause Sales expert now at 800-451-9930

Buy tickets for Broadway's Blithe Spirit- at discount prices
For those of you Angela Lansbury fans that might want to see one of the theater's greatest legendary performers, now is your chance to see Noel Coward's Blithe Spirit at the Shubert Theater in New York City. Ms. Lansbury and her co-stars-Rupert Everett, Christine Ebersole and Jayne Atkinson are very funny in this show that tells the tale of a very successful novelist that seems to be "haunted" by his biggest fan-his deceased first wife. You can only imagine how this revelation will make his current wife feel. I saw Blithe Spirit and really enjoyed the performances of the entire cast. The show really has lots of funny material. For a limited time only the folks at Applause Theater Service in New York City can get you great seats to Blithe Spirit at tickets below the regular "face value". Why is this? Applause has been a New York State licensed ticket agency for over 21 years now. Orchestra Or Mezzanine:Which Is Better
That's right theater fans. It's time for the Great Debate. Which is the best place to see a show? The Orchestra or the Mezzanine? In the five years that I have been working for Applause I have sold thousands of tickets to all types of shows both On and Off-Broadway. Say what you want but that's a lot of customers. Now we all know that every Broadway theater has both an upstairs and a downstairs. That has been the same for over one hundred years. The question is where do you sit? You could ask 100 people and I can almost guarantee that fifty people will say Orchestra and fifty people will say Mezzanine. Makes sense right? Everybody has their opinion on where is the best place to see a show. That will never change. To be honest sometimes I like sitting in the Orchestra and sometimes I like sitting in the Mezzanine. The truth is some theatres are bigger than others and while that is not always the reason for choosing my seats I guess it can make a difference some of the time. For example. Wicked at the Gershwin Theatre. It is Broadway's biggest theatre 1.809 seats. Sounds big right? But did you know that the Broadway theatre's are smaller than any theatre's in the country? Most people are amazed when I tell them that but it's the truth. Anyway back to Wicked. Having seen the show many times I can honestly say that the Mezzanine is the best play to see the show. That includes both the Front and the Rear. Plus you know that with a show based on the Wizard of Oz there are going to be things and or people flying around so by being upstairs you are really getting a great overall view. Not to say the Orchestra isn't good too. Remember it's just one man's opinion. Truth be told when it comes to the theatres on Broadway almost all the seats are good. Yes there are partial view and obstructed view seats but there is one advantage to those seats at well. A discount. In this day and age a inexpensive ticket is just as good. Like I said."It's just one man's opinion. Until next time theatre fans.JWB

Jeremy Irons and Joan Allen Come to Broadway in Impressionism
I can't wait till tomorrow night when I get to see a new American play called Impressionism on Broadway. Impressionism features a fantastic cast, led by Jeremy Irons (last seen on Broadway in 1984's The Real Thing) for which he won a much deserved Tony Award. In addition we will get to see the very talented Joan Allen (last seen on Broadway in 1989's The Heidi Chronicles), where she received a Tony nomination for her work. An extremely hard working and talented supporting cast will join them on stage as well. Impressionism is written by Michael Jacobs and directed by 3 time Tony Award-winning Jack O'Brien.Impressionism is a love story which tells us about a world traveling photojournalist and a New York City art gallery owner and how "art" can repair the broken lives of people.
Right now, Applause Theater Service in New York City is offering discount pricing for Impressionism for many performances through April 19, 2009. You can simply call them locally at 212-307-7050 or toll free at 800-451-9930, seven days a week. They are a friendly ticket agency that always offers the best seats for all the Broadway Shows, at the best prices as well.

Broadway Theater Excitement is back in New York City

With all the talk of "doom and gloom" we hear over and over again about the American economy being in bad shape, I just wanted to remind those of us that are fortunate to be gainfully employed, and also those that will soon be employed once again-there's no reason to ever have to pay "high prices" when buying Broadway Show tickets for yourself, your friends and your family. For several decades now, the public has often been confused as to what the best way to go about buying good seats for Broadway Shows is. Also there are tons of people that often think they need to pay those "high prices" to see one of New York's top theater productions.
Those days are over friends. For over 31 years I have been a licensed theater ticket broker and have been witness to many other ticket firms offering the best seats, but at "outrageous" prices. Look no further friends.
We welcome the opportunity to be of service when your plans include seeing a Broadway Show. You can click on our Broadway Show link here and see the full list of show offerings. You can browse our on line inventory and we welcome a phone call at 212-307-7050 or toll free at 800-451-9930 if you want to talk theater.
Some of the newer Broadway Shows starting to play soon in New York City are listed below. We have something for everyone. Here's the upcoming show list as of today. They are:
33 Variations
Guys & Dolls
West Side Story
Hair
Impressionism
God of Carnage
Blithe Spirit
Waiting for Godot
9 to 5
Story of My Life
Irena's Vow
Exit The King

Rock of Ages
The Philanthropist
We hope to hear from you when your plans include seeing a Broadway Show. Remember Applause Theatre is at your service seven days a week, providing the best shows, seating and prices every day.
Take care now.

Broadway makes a comeback!
current state of Broadway from Crain's. It basically says what I've been saying all along. That Broadway is never dead and we alway's make a comeback! We all love Broadway at Applause Theatre Service and it will always be with us! Enjoy!A total of 40 new plays and musicals will open on the Great White Way during the 2008-09 season, the greatest number of productions to open since 1986-87.
Contrary to popular belief, the curtain is far from falling on Broadway.
In fact, if all scheduled shows open as planned over the next few months, the Great White Way will have more new productions than any season in the last two decades. A whopping 22 new shows are opening this spring, bringing the total of new plays and musicals to 40 for the 2008-09 season.
Though the number is just one more than last season, it still marks the most openings since 1986-87 when 43 shows opened, according to Bloomberg News.
“Despite the fact that like Chicken Little said, ‘the sky is falling,’ there are a lot of new productions,” said Daryl Roth, producer of the new Tovah Feldshuh play, Irena’s Vow, which opens March 29. “Of course everyone is a bit anxious to be sure that all the new plays and musicals find their audiences, but people are feeling optimistic.”
The next few months will be crowded. In addition to a number of big musicals, like 9 to 5 and West Side Story, 14 new plays—many with celebrities—will compete for cash-strapped audiences. The plays include 33 Variations, starring Jane Fonda, and God of Carnage, with James Gandolfini and Marcia Gay Harden.
Though producers are optimistic, they acknowledge they will have to work harder to succeed in the middle of a major recession.
“You can’t just put up the marquee and think people are going to come,” Ms. Roth said. “We have to be very tenacious about reaching out to people and at the same time be frugal about how we’re spending.”
Despite all the new productions, the season has had a bumpy ride. So far, 26 shows have closed and there are still more than four months until the Tony Awards. That is just one less than the number of closings for the entire 2007-08 season.
Well one way to get people to come is by making Broadway more affordable and with the Applause Insider Deals we can make it more affordable for our customers! Call an Applause Sales Expert now to get your tickets at a great price. 800-451-9930

He's Baaack!! "Idol" Finalist Clay Aiken Return's to Broadway's Spamalot in September!
"American Idol" finalist and new dad Clay Aiken will return to the
Broadway company of Monty Python's Spamalot on September 19th.He will reprise his role of Sir Robin through Jan. 4, 2009.
In a statement Aiken joked, "Since leaving Spamalot in May, jokes have just not been funny. Food has lost its taste. The grass is no longer green — the sky no longer blue. And, babies won't stop crying!! I'm so excited about coming back to the funniest show in the world!"
I have to agree that this show is one of the funniest show's that I've ever seen and a must see for those who need a good laugh, and don't we all nowadays!
Spamalot earned the 2005 Tony Award for Best Musical and took home honors for direction (Mike Nichols) and one of its stars (Sara Ramirez).
Spamalot celebrated its third anniversary on Broadway March 18.
On Broadway Spamalot plays Tuesday-Friday at 8 PM, Saturday at 2 and 8 PM and Sunday at 2 and 7 PM.

Final Chances to see 3 of Hollywood's Biggest Stars in "The Country Girl" with Applause Theatre Service
Morgan Freeman, Frances McDormand and Peter Gallager are all currently on Broadway through July 20th only in the Mike Nichols directed, "The Country Girl". This is what the NY Post says;
"MORGAN FREEMAN, FRANCES McDORMAND
and PETER GALLAGHER ARE SUPERB!
Crisply directed by MIKE NICHOLS, 'THE COUNTRY GIRL'
features some of the finest acting of the season!"
-Clive Barnes, NY Post
I honestly feel this will be the last time to catch Morgan Freeman in a live stage performance. He said this was a lot of work for him and he's more of a movie type of guy as he's proven with his Academy Award winning and nominated performances over his incredible career.
I was taken in with this show which is well directed, has a smart story written by the great Clifford Odets and of course the amazing performances by three great actors! Especially for me Frances McDormand from one of my all time favorite movies, Fargo!
So call now and get your tickets fast before it's too late. Also, if you act now, call an Applause Theatre Service sales expert and mention the Applause Insider deal for some big savings. 212-307-7050
