Customer Story
This week's customer story comes all the way from the great state of Ohio. Now while I am from Illinois myself my coworker Todd is from Ohio so I figured I would throw him a bone and do a blog on a fellow Buckeye. So here we go. Last week I received a call from a very nice lady who is planning a trip to New York for Easter weekend. Besides doing a little shopping she wanted to try to squeeze in a show while she was here.I asked what she wanted to see and she picked Mamma Mia since she loved the movie and was dying to see the Broadway production. I told here that while it it is still one of Broadway's most popular shows it should not be a problem as it has been playing here for over eight years. I also told her that not only could I get her great seats but I could also get them for her at below face value. She said that would be great and asked my opinion on where is the best place to sit. I told her that my favorite place to sit is always the Front Mezzanine.
For one thing you are elevated so you don't have to worry about people sitting in front of you blocking your view plus with a show like Mamma Mia it is better to sit upstairs as it is quite loud as well. She told me that she would leave it in my hands and trusted me that I would get her the best seats. By the way I got her second row center in the Front Mezzanine for $110 each. That is $15 less then you would spend at the theatre. Another satisfied customer. Will you be next?

Customer Story
This week's customer story comes all the way from Naples, Florida. She had called earlier in the day because she was looking to bring her granddaughter to New York for the first time and wanted to know if we could get her tickets to see Mary Poppins. I told her that would be no problem and that not only could I get her great seats but at a special insider price as well. She had heard from a friend of hers who had just seen the show that the Front Mezzanine had the best seats. I told her she was right as not only is it the best view for seeing the show if you are bringing a small child but that Mary Poppins actually flies above the Mezzanine during the show.
Well cut too a little while later and I was able to get her the first row center on an aisle and at a price that was below face value. To say that she was thrilled was an understatement. She thanked me for taking extra good care of her and said she would definitely use us again in the future. Another satisfied customer. Will you be next?

Customer Story
This week's customer story comes all the way from upstate New York. Believe it or not but a lot of our customers come from the Tri-State area. So anyway it was one of my first calls of the day and I had a woman who was coming into the city that day with her family and wanted to know if she could get tickets to see The Lion King on Broadway. I asked her how many seats she needed and she told me she needed seven.Since it was the same day she knew it might be tough so she was willing to split up if need be. Well not only did I find her seats but I was able to get all seven seats together and in the center of the Front Mezzanine which if you haven't been to the Minskoff Theatre it is just as good if not better than the Orchestra. Well to say she was happy was an understatement. I asked her if she needed anything else and she asked if I could suggest some restaurants for her and her family to go to after the show.
Having lived in New York for eighteen years I know plenty of places to go where not only would she get a good meal but at a price that would be well within their price range. She did have six other people to feed after all. Well after a little investigating I found a great place and they were on their way to a wonderful evening in the city. Another satisfied customer. Will you be next?

Customer Story
This week's customer story comes all the way from the great state of Indiana. As a travel agent she has used our service many times over the years when she needed theatre tickets for her clients who were coming into New York City to see a show. However this time when she called she was not looking for tickets for a client but for herself.I told her that not only could I get her seats to whatever she wanted but because she was a travel agent she was automatically entitled to a 10% discount. Well that just made her day. I asked her what she wanted to see and she said that she was a big fan of Catherine Zeta-Jones and wanted to see if we could get her a seat to see A Little Night Music that was full view but that wouldn't be too expensive.
Now for those of you have never been to the Walter Kerr Theatre it is one of the smallest theatres on Broadway. In fact all the Broadway theatres are not very big which is a big misconception among people who have never been to Broadway. In fact when you compare our theatres to other theatres around the country we have some of the smallest. Anyway back to my story. I was able to get her a full view seat in the balcony for a great price.
After taking care of the ticket she asked me if I could suggest a few restaurants in the city that she might enjoy. Believe it or not besides selling tickets we are experts when it comes to great places to eat in the city. I gave her a list of about eight different restaurants to choose from while she was here and told her that if she needed help with anything else to give us a call. Another satisfied customer. THE VALUE OF A HUMAN BEING
Applause was founded in September of 1987 with a staff of two people: Rich Gladstone and Bill Stolting. It started growing right from the very beginning and kept growing and growing. We all knew the secret of our growth: CUSTOMER SERVICE. We had difficulties through the years: September 11, 2001, recessions, unfair competition and the INTERNET. Are you shocked? We have been on the Internet for years so why would the Internet be a problem. From the moment we started Applause we always had a staff person answer the phone, we never had music on hold or voice mail. How many of you remember the last time you made a telephone call and someone answered the phone. Is it possible every one in the world is either "on another line or away from his desk". Does this mean that I don't use the Internet? I use the Internet often but I never buy anything from any company on the Internet that doesn't have a telephone number or an address. I was burned a few times and learned my lesson.
Now the biggest problem we have at Applause is letting people know what kind of company we are and the kind of treatment they can expect from Applause. Our biggest competition actually buys many of their tickets from Applause because they have the
money to advertise. It really hurts because people are buying our tickets at much higher prices than they would pay us and without the personal treatment and expertise they would receive from us.

Customer Story
Like last week's customer story this one comes from the great state of Washington. Yesterday I talked to a gentleman who was bringing his wife to New York to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary in June. She had been dying to see Wicked for years and had tried to get tickets when it came to Seattle but things happened and they never got around to it. Well not only did I get them great seats but at a price that was lower then they saw anywhere else.Once Wicked was set I asked them if they wanted to see anything else and he said that Hair was always a personal favorite for him and his wife and wanted to know if we had any special rates for the show. I told him that not only could I get him great seats but at prices that were below face value. Well that just made his day. In fact because I saved him so much money he might call back next week to book a third show. Another satisfied customer. Will you be next?

Customer Story
This weeks customer story comes from all away across the country. Seattle, Washington to be exact. Yesterday I received a call from a very nice young lady who was planning a trip to New York next month and was dying to see Billy Elliot while she was here. I told her not only do we sell that show but I could get her good seats within her budget. She mentioned that she had the New York Pass which gives her 10% off of our ticket price. For those of you who haven’t heard of the New York Pass it really is a great deal. Not only does it get you discounts on theatre tickets but great deals for places all over the city. By the way you can now purchase the New York Pass at Applause. Just give us a call or feel free to stop by our office. We are open 7 days a week. Anyway back to my blog. We went thru the dates she was available and found her seats at a price that was far less then she had anticipated. Not only that but because I saved her so much on Billy Elliot she bought a second show as well. Another satisfied customer. Will you be next?JWB

Customer Story
Well after three weeks of blogging about new shows and how you can get tickets for below face value I figured it was time for a more personal story about a customer I spoke to earlier this week. To be honest the week started off like any other. Quiet in the morning and then busy in the afternoon. It was the first Monday in February after all. So while the phones weren’t ringing off the hook Boldchat was. For those of you who don’t know what I am talking about it is a new interactive service that we launched about two years ago where we can talk live to customers when they log on to our website. It allows them to ask questions without ever having to pick up phone. If you haven’t checked it out I suggest you give it a try. It’s pretty cool.Anyway back to my story. This week’s customer comes all the way from San Francisco. He was planning a last minute trip for him and his wife and wanted to see three shows while they were here. Their first choice was Billy Elliot and then he asked me to suggest two others that he might like. I suggested Hair as it is one of the best shows on Broadway. He loved that idea. He then mentioned that a friend of his had seen Next To Normal while they were here and thought it sounded different and thought that might be an option as well. I told him that I loved the show and that not only could I get him great seats but at a reduced rate. Same thing with Hair. Well he loved that. In the end I ended up getting him great seats to all three shows and at some great prices as well. Another satisfied customer. Will you be next?

Customer Story
This week's story comes from a regular customer of mine from Short Hills, NJ who comes into the city two or three times a year to catch up on the latest shows and do some shopping. Since she first started using our service back in 2005 she has bought tickets for fourteen different shows. I guess you could say she likes the theatre. Earlier this week she called looking for tickets to see Wishful Drinking on Broadway. For those of you who haven't seen it,it is a one-woman show written by and starring Carrie Fisher. It is a riot. She wanted to get tickets for next week that were a good view but not too expensive. Well not only did I get her great seats but I got them well below face value. Another satisfied customer. Another (2) New Satisfied Broadway Ticket Customers
At Applause Theater Service we like to share customer stories with our blog readers. Our thinking is simple really. Maybe we can share a customer experience or two with others that may need some assistance when purchasing theater tickets. Then if it make sense for you, maybe you'll contact Applause Theater Service to obtain your Broadway Show tickets.Today, our VP of Operations at Applause, Todd Freeman, who is also the top ticket seller in the business (in our opinion of course), signed up a new customer for Applause. Her name is Carolyn Williams from California. After talking with Todd for a while, Carolyn decided on seeing Memphis The Musical on Friday January 8, 2010 at the Shubert Theater in New York City. Todd was able to obtain front center seating for Memphis The Musical for a little more than a hundred dollars. Most companies in the ticket industry charge a few hundred dollars at least (per ticket) for seats in the front center of the orchestra. How did Todd get amazing seats for below face value? Although we cannot reveal the Applause tricks of the trade in our industry, we can tell you we simply know about all the "insider ticket deals" that Broadway Show producers have in January and February of 2010. Since Memphis The Musical tickets are not usually selling out their inventory, Applause was able to obtain a discount, add on a small service charge and get Carolyn in at an amazing price.
Does this sound like a customer story you might like to experience yourself? If so, you may contact Todd or any of his ready, willing and able staff at Applause Theater Service in New York City. The local phone number is 212-307-7050 or you can call toll free at 800-451-9930.
The second customer story is kind of cool also. Carol, the soccer mom on the Applause staff, is a "get things done" person for sure. When she got a call from Chris Wells from North Carolina today looking for usually very hard to get Wicked The Musical tickets, Carol wasted no time. Although every performance for Wicked The Musical has been sold out for months now, Carol knows that New York's very busy tourist season is winding down now. She called the theater and asked them if they had any cancellations for this Thursday January 8, 2010. Not only was Carol able to secure Wicked The Musical tickets for her new customer, but I'm happy to tell you that she was able to secure amazing seats in row N in the center section of the orchestra. And for only $145.00 a ticket as well.
There are hundreds of companies that claim they can sell you Broadway musical and play tickets. Maybe so, but how many can provide amazing customer service in the process?
If you need advice on shopping for Broadway musical or play tickets, we hope you'll consider Applause Theater Service, a local Broadway ticket expert.
Sincerely,
Rich Gladstone
