BROADWAY - MUSICAL
The mysterious Willy Wonka is opening his Chocolate Factory for just one day, and for Charlie Bucket it promises to be a mouth-watering chance to feast his eyes on sweets beyond his wildest imagination.
ROALD DAHL’s most treasured tale is coming to the land where sweet dreams come true—Broadway—in a delicious new musical! Willy Wonka, world famous inventor of the Everlasting Gobstopper, has just made an astonishing announcement. His marvelous—and mysterious—factory is opening its gates...to a lucky few. It’s a world of pure imagination.
Two-time Tony Award® winner CHRISTIAN BORLE (Something Rotten, Peter and the Starcatcher) is the magical maestro Willy Wonka himself. And who better to conjure up these confectionary wonders than three-time Tony Award-winning director JACK O’BRIEN, the Grammy® and Tony-winning songwriters of Hairspray, MARC SHAIMAN and SCOTT WITTMAN, internationally acclaimed playwright DAVID GREIG, and Emmy®-winning choreographer JOSHUA BERGASSE. Audiences around the world have long adored the best-selling book and films, but none have experienced the magic of Wonka quite like this—until now.

Notes from James:
Get Tickets To See Charlie And The Chocolate Factory On Broadway
Growing up as a child Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was one of my favorite books. I didn't think it could get any better than that.
Then the movie came out and I thought I was in heaven. Cut to thirty-five years later and the story that I have loved since I was seven years old is finally coming to Broadway as a musical. And here I thought it couldn't get any better. Previews for the show are scheduled to begin at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre on March 28, 2017, with opening night set for April 23.
Leading the cast as Willie Wonka is two-time Tony Award winner Christian Borle. Who by the way will be pulling double duty this season as he is also playing the role of Marvin in the first Broadway revival of Falsettos. Can you just imagine if he was nominated for both roles? Not only would that be a first, but it would also make next year's Tony Awards very interesting my friends.
