Based on the 1960 Academy-Award winning Billy Wilder motion picture The Apartment starring Jack Lemmon and Shirley MacLain, Promises, Promises Broadway show is the brilliant story of one man’s misguided efforts to get ahead at his company.

Chuck Baxter seems to have it all going for him. He’s young, handsome, ambitious, and willing to do just about anything to get ahead at his company, The Consolidated Life Insurance Company. It doesn’t take long for Chuck to learn that pretty much anything goes in corporate America and he quickly comes up with a scheme to take advantage of that fact. Chuck begins offering his apartment to company executives to use for their afterhours extramarital trysts. Everything is going well until he finds a lady of his own to focus his attention on. Fran Kubelik is beautiful and brilliant and Chuck is head over heels in love with her in no time. Unfortunately, Chuck quickly discovers that Fran is one of the ladies being brought to his apartment by his philandering boss.

The struggle that ensues for Chuck is a familiar one – do you follow your head or your heart? Should he break his deal with his company’s executives and confess his love for Fran or just grin and bear it while Fran continues her affair with his superior? Promises, Promises is one of New York’s funniest shows with one of the most talented casts currently on Broadway. Kristin Chenoweth and Sean Hayes are a dynamite duo.
